Shape the Future of SA’s Transport Networks, Development and Operation

Our client, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) plays a critically important role in South Australia, managing all aspects of planning and land use; and the maintenance, operation and service delivery across all of the State’s transport networks, construction of transport and other government-funded infrastructure.

We are seeking a Director, Transport Analytics, accountable to the Executive Director, Transport Planning and Program Development, for the development and provision of strategic network modelling and forecasting and associated analytics for the Department to inform strategic transport planning and infrastructure investment decision making.

This exciting role requires an appointee with the knowledge, training and expertise in contemporary data science and analytics tools and techniques with experience in developing and maintaining advanced tools and models which support evidence-based decision making.

You will be highly inquisitive, innovative and take nothing for granted; testing hypotheses, thinking outside the square and looking beyond existing transport data sets will place you at the forefront of helping to shape the future of SA’s transport networks, their development and operation.

The appointee will build a small, sharp, astute, high impact team of professionals to develop and apply best practice application of advanced data analytic and modelling techniques to ensure sound decision making based on all of the evidence. This team will change the way that transport networks operate into the future. Part of this will require a strong external focus in addition to all of the above activities. You do not need to have a background in transport, however, a keen interest in how you can mould transport futures from your outstanding skill and experience set will be assumed. This role is classified at SAES 1 and career advancement prospects are outstanding.

Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 8 November 2019.
