The Federation of Polish Organisations in SA Inc. (FoPOSA) unites 22 Polish member organisations which represent cultural, educational, historical, patriotic and social aspects of the Polish community’s activities. FoPOSA runs specially created programs to support those with a Polish background within the community. The organisation relies on assistance from the community and volunteers to support their programs including the Polish Aging Well in CALD Community Program, Polish Home Care Packages Program, Polish Meals Program and the Polish Social Support Services Program, and respite services. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, proactive and commercially astute Manager Community Services to coordinate the operations of FoPOSA’s programs and successfully implement effective business strategies, reporting frameworks and procedures.
The appointee will be employed on a 12-month, fixed-term contract basis, with the opportunity for extension dependent on funding, and report to the Executive Committee and manage a small team. This hands-on leadership role will take responsibility for the provision of a range of financial and administrative services including human resources, compliance, development and implementation of policies and procedures and internal framework, and risk management. You will apply your knowledge of business processes and reporting protocols and display the capacity to work both autonomously and as part of a closely knit team, given the wide variety of challenging tasks inherent in this key role.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for advising the FoPOSA Executive Committee on strategic plans, systems and structures to align organisational performance and governance with accepted standards and practices and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations to meet government standards and obligations in line with funding agreements. A thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, national service standards and other government processes (federal and state) associated with the delivery of community care programs including occupational health and safety, food standards and equal employment opportunity is crucial to this role.

You will have experience working with older people within human services and the community, managing staff and volunteers and have a thorough understanding of finance and human resources processes.
