SAES 1 Classification | Key Strategic and Leadership Role

Our client, the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) is a key economic development agency in the Government of South Australia, with responsibility for the prosperity of the State's primary industries and regions.  In an exceptionally exciting era of new leadership and with an energised workforce, we are seeking to appoint a cutting edge Director, People and Culture to deliver strategic direction and leadership for the Agency’s people, culture and safety management strategies, initiatives, programs and services.

Working in close partnership with the Chief Executive and the Executive Leadership Team, the Director will position the People and Culture branch as a strategic and critical partner to achieve optimal organisational performance and productivity to deliver critical organisational objectives and outcomes. In an Agency which classifies its people as their “most valuable resource”, this role will ultimately be responsible for ensuring PIRSA has the right organisational policies, strategies, culture and structures to enable high performance across the entire organisation.   

You will work across the complete suite of people and culture functions, as well as leading the design and implementation of plans and programs which are best practice, efficient and lead to truly improved organisational performance. This will require resourcefulness and an approach which successfully engages leaders and managers across the organisation, building lasting relationships which will ultimately enable a business partnering model which is efficient, effective and high quality in advice and delivery.

We seek applications from energetic, practical, pragmatic and outcomes oriented professionals who ideally possess a tertiary qualification/s in Human Resources Management, have extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary role and in developing, leading and implementing a broad range of contemporary HR and organisational development strategies, programs, policies and practices, with a proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
