We are seeking an Executive Officer/Director of Nursing to provide outstanding strategic and operational leadership, governance and direction for the Nursing and Midwifery services within the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN).
Based 850km north of Adelaide in Coober Pedy, and with responsibility for the Oodnadatta Clinic, this key leadership position will ensure the development and implementation of frameworks and systems within which nursing and midwifery employees practise, and on monitoring and evaluating clinical practice and service delivery standards. The Coober Pedy Hospital is a 15-bed facility with 11 acute beds and four high level residential aged care beds, and works in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers to ensure optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. The Oodnadatta Clinic is a remote clinic located in Oodnadatta, approximately 200kms from Coober Pedy, and offers a variety of services to the local population of 200 people. The Registered Nurses offer 24-hour emergency services that includes management of retrievals and the ambulance service.
With scope for this role to extend beyond services other than nursing and midwifery, you will be a strategic, highly effective and networked leader and manager, and be experienced in leading and influencing your workforce based on your blend of leadership and operational skills.
Reporting to the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery, EFNLHN, and working closely with the executive and senior clinical and management personnel, you will be a dynamic, practical, pragmatic leader who can demonstrate an outstanding level of efficiency, effectiveness and collaboration in order for your team to achieve strategic and operational goals.
It is a requirement for applicants to be registered, or eligible for registration, as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
