YHAC provides primary health services to the Aboriginal community of Ceduna, Koonibba and the surrounding districts, and supports Aboriginal health workers in promoting the prevention or control of diseases via the provision of a range of high quality services designed to improve the wellness and health of Aboriginal people. The exceptional and rare opportunity has arisen for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to be appointed to our client’s amazing organisation where the appointee will enjoy an immense level of job satisfaction by leading the delivery of services which meet significant health and wellbeing challenges in the local Aboriginal community. The role provides scope to apply a high level of altruism combined with commercial acumen to ensure the ongoing optimal performance of service delivery to the local community and working under the direction of the Board and with the support of the Commonwealth Government which provides major funding for the Corporation. We are seeking an outstanding inspirational leader who can demonstrate genuine concern for the specialised delivery of health and wellbeing services to an Aboriginal community to address general and specific physical and mental health needs in an environment which is constantly challenged in attracting professional staff against the backdrop of staff shortages throughout the healthcare industry across Australia. Your commercial acumen, strategic insight, pragmatism, drive and energy when combined with a highly proactive Board supported by external professionals when required will see you thrive in designing workforce planning, strategic and business planning, financial management and people and culture initiatives to attract, retain and reward a wide variety of professional staff dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare. You will be rewarded with an excellent and highly competitive level of remuneration in keeping with the demands of the role and offered a fixed term contract through mutual agreement. A fully maintained vehicle and housing will also form part of the remuneration package. Ceduna is a 1.5 hour flight from Adelaide, located on the shores of Murat Bay on the western coast of the Eyre Peninsula. The name deriving from the Aboriginal word meaning “a place to sit down and rest”, Ceduna is a key fishing port with a temperate climate for most of the year.
