Adelaide-based National Organisation | Customer-focussed Role

Our client, the Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA) is located in Adelaide and facilitates target shooting and advocates for shooting sports in Australia.  With over 200,000 members and 440 clubs across Australia, it is the leading shooting sports organisation in the country.  

As part of its service to members, the SSAA produces three magazines – Australian Shooter, Australian Hunter and Australian and New Zealand Handgun – as well as a number of other publications.  

SSAA is seeking a highly engaging and proactive individual to sell advertising opportunities, and assist with marketing the organisation and developing and delivering a social media engagement strategy in collaboration with the CEO, focussed on elevating SSAA’s digital presence.  Prior experience with publications, especially in shooting sports, 4WD, camping or outdoor industries would be advantageous, and sales experience will be considered favourably.

The position will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the editor and production team, and be responsible for soliciting and managing all advertising; liaising with clients within the firearms industry and wider community; and effectively promoting SSAA’s publications to ensure continued new business generation.

Success in this role will be underpinned by sound interpersonal communication and organisational skills which will form the foundation of your ability to liaise with internal team members and advertisers to ensure the smooth delivery of publications, source new advertising clientele and negotiate beneficial agreements.

With a second office in Sydney, applications are sought from those who reside in, or are interested in relocating to, either Adelaide or Sydney where flexible WFH arrangements are welcome. Applications are also welcome from those who reside in Victoria on a WFH basis.
